Truly special homes set in a great location
Although it has
changed considerably since its very rural beginnings, Pembury’s
thriving community still strongly maintains a friendly village
identity.
Pembury's
position at an important crossroads gave rise to 4 churches,
at least 5 inns and a thriving commercial community. Today
it offers a good range of local amenities, day-to-day shopping
facilities including a nearby Tesco supermarket, doctor’s
surgery, library, pubs and restaurants, as well as a Primary
School. Pembury is also within Grammar School catchment
area for both Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. The local countryside
offers good walking opportunities through the orchards and
fruit farms. Tunbridge Wells, about 4 miles away, has a
full range of shopping and recreational facilities, as well
as main line railway services to Canon Street and Charing
Cross, (timetable journey approximately 50 minutes). Alternatively,
there are commuter services from Paddock Wood, about 5 miles
distant, (timetable journey about 45 minutes) as well as
a Waitrose supermarket. By road the A21 is just to the west
of Pembury providing direct access to the M25 London Orbital
motorway, as well as the South Coast. Ashford International
Station, offering rail links to Europe, is within a reasonable
driving distance from Pembury.
